OPEN LESS FROM THE SB
90,307 hands · 1 March, 2026 – 24 August, 2026
You open too wide from the small blind, but your other opening ranges are great. You fold too much in the big blind against the button's min-raise. After the flop in single-raised pots, you bet more often than GTO as the raiser, on the flop and on the turn.
Preflop comes first because these are chart fixes: learn the chart and review your known preflop mistakes after each session. Next comes your c-betting and barreling, starting with how often you c-bet the flop.
We recommend you focus on the following this month:

You raise 54% from the small blind, and GTO raises 45%. Your limps are so rare that they do not change this number: you play raise-or-fold, and you raise too many hands. Learn the SB opening chart and fold the hands at the bottom of your raising range.

You open-limp from the small blind 0.1% of the time, so the exploit limp is missing from your game. Our research shows that new opponents do not react well to it. Limping even weak hands is usually better than losing 50bb/100 hands by just open folding. We do not do this often, but it is a valuable exploit. When a fish or an unknown player sits in the big blind, limp your weak hands instead of folding them.

Your 3-bets against the button's min-raise are fine, so the hands you fold there should be calls. Your calling range against this open is too narrow. You also barely change your defence with the size. You fold 49% against the min-raise and 58% against 2.5x, while GTO folds 41% and 61%. Different sizings need different defend frequencies, so put the extra focus on the min-raise. Against the button's min-raise, use this quick fix. It is not 100% accurate, but if you follow it you hit very good frequencies quickly: - Do not fold a suited hand, except 72s, 82s, 92s and 83s. - Offsuit, call every Ax, and K5o and better. - Call every offsuit hand with both cards 8 or higher. - Call the offsuit connectors down to 54o.

BB vs SB is the only spot where you need to 3-bet polarized. Against the small blind's 3x open you 3-bet 13% and GTO 3-bets 20%, and against 2.5x you are off by the same 7%. Your calls are fine, so the missing 3-bets ended up in your calling range. Move some of your weakest calling hands into polarized 3-bet bluffs. Focus first on the 3-bet range against the open size you face most, the 3x.

Against the cutoff's 2.5x and 3x you defend too many hands both ways: you 3-bet too much and you call too much. Against the 3x you call 5% and GTO calls 0%. Your defence against the cutoff's min-raise is fine. Against 2.5x and 3x, fold the weakest hands you now 3-bet or call, and with a regular behind you, 3-bet or fold.

Against the button you defend wider than the range allows at the min-raise and at 2.5x, while your defence against 3x is fine. Your calls are fine too. Against the min-raise the extra hands go mainly into 3-bets: you 3-bet 16% and GTO 3-bets 14%. Fold more against both sizes, starting with the weakest hands you now 3-bet against the min-raise.

Your 3-bets against early opens are fine; the problem is the calls. Against 2.5x and 3x you call with a capped range against strong ranges. Against the 3x you call 8% and GTO calls 1%. A call from the small blind is only right with a weaker player in the big blind. Small pocket pairs and suited connectors perform well with a fish in the big blind. You continue too wide here, mostly by 4-betting: you 4-bet 11% and GTO 4-bets 7%. Against 3-bets of 11-13bb in position you also 4-bet too much. In position against a 3-bet from the blinds, stay close to the solver. Folding a little more is fine, because the population under-3bets, but calling or 4-betting more than the solver is not. Take the weakest hands you now 4-bet against the big blind's 3-bet and fold them.

leakWe are 95%+ sure that the analyzed stats cost you money.90Distance to the recommended range50/50EV costs40/50Based on our MDA researchLeak score history:24 August, 202690Measured: B-B [MP/LP] · Bet too much by 35.83%
You bet the turn with 63% of your middle and low pairs, and GTO does it 27%. Your value hands are fine, and you already barrel a lot of your draws, which is the direction we want. The problem is that pairs take the place of no-pair hands: only 37% of your double barrels have no pair, and GTO has 49%. You do this from every seat. You also barrel more often from the cutoff than from early and middle position. From early position your range advantage is bigger, so that is where you can be more aggressive, not the cutoff. Your sizes need work too. You bet 50% of the pot 21% of the time, and GTO does it 4%. We usually use that size against fish, so part of it can be how many fish you play. The size you are missing is pot or bigger: you use it 5% of the time, and GTO 19%. On a blank turn, where you hold the nut advantage, this is where the overbet belongs in position, and we go very polarized. Check back more of your middle and low pairs on the turn so they can call down on the river, and put your strongest blank-turn barrels into the pot-size bet or an overbet.
Flop c-bet - SRP - IP PFR - BTN-UTG vs BB

You cbet about 70% from every seat. GTO cbets 68% from early and middle position, but only 53% from the button. From early position you have a much bigger range advantage against the big blind, so that is where the aggressive flop play belongs. From the button and cutoff you cbet as if you had the same advantage. Your sizes are off too. In position, 30% is the attack on dry boards, where you bet most of your range merged. You use it only 11% of the time, and GTO 29%. Instead you bet 50% 35% of the time, and GTO 15%. We usually use that size against fish, so this can mean you meet a lot of fish, or that you use it against everyone. When you bet 66% or bigger, 56% of those bets are strong hands, and GTO has 35%. You bluff too little with the bigger size. Put a few more draws into it and fewer pure-air hands. From the button and cutoff, check more flops, and on dry boards bet 30% with most of your range instead of 50%.

When you cbet the flop and check back the turn, you bet the river 22% of the time, and GTO bets 41%. Your sizes are fine. The problem is that almost every river bet you make here is value. You bet only 5% of your air, and GTO bets 30%. Your top pair and better hands get bet often, so your river range is all value and easy to fold against. Add bluffs from your no-pair hands, not from your low pairs. On the river you have no equity left, so every bluff comes down to blockers. When you reach this river with air, pick the hands with the best blockers and bet them.

You triple barrel 35% of the time, and GTO does it 45%. At your stakes we do not mind if you bluff less here. You do not want to be the guy who bluffs a station, and against those players you just value bet. If in doubt, giving up is fine. The bigger problem is the size. You bet pot or bigger 8% of the time, and GTO does it 29%. You go all-in 2% of the time, and GTO 14%. Your third barrels go into 66% instead, which means your best hands win smaller pots than they should. Put your strongest triple barrels, two pair and better and your best top pairs, into the pot-size bet or the all-in instead of 66%.

When the flop and turn check through, his range is weak and capped, and he folds too much on the river. You bet only 26% of the time here, and GTO bets 50%. Against this population we want to bet more than GTO, not less. Your sizes are fine. The problem is that you only bet when you have it. You bet 16% of your air, and GTO bets 40%. Half of your river bets are top pair or better, and GTO has 36%, so your bets are easy to read. When you check back the flop and turn and miss, bet the river with much more of your air.

How often you bet the river after a delayed cbet is fine. The size is where you go wrong. You bet pot or bigger 2% of the time, and GTO does it 22%. Most of your river bets on this line go in at 66%. This is a line we use as an exploit, because the population does not protect its checking ranges well and folds too much. The pot-size bet puts the most pressure on those ranges. On this river, move your strongest value bets from 66% up to pot or bigger.

You fold too much against every probe size, and the 50% probe is the worst: you fold 60%, and GTO folds 29%. How often you raise is fine, so the hands you fold should be calls. Your strong hands are not the problem. You fold 76% of your no-pair hands, and GTO folds 51%. You fold 32% of your draws, and GTO folds 20%. These are the hands you need to call with against the probe. Turn defending frequencies are mastered by doing drills on GTOWizard. This is all about getting a feel for the ranges you need to defend on different boards. With the Elite subscription, use our own set-up drills. Drill turn probes at a 30%, a 50% and an overbet size on GTOWizard, and call more of your draws, especially against the 50% probe.

You defend too much against flop c-bets, and the extra hands go into calls. How often you check-raise is fine. The hands that should fold more are your middle and low pairs: you fold them 17% of the time, and GTO folds them 25%. Your draws and your air fold the right amount. You also fold about the same amount against every opener. Against an early or middle position open you fold 36%, and GTO folds 48%. The cheap price preflop makes you call a wide range from the big blind. Against an early or middle position opener, your range has to give up a lot more on the flop than against a button open. That keeps the hands you continue with strong enough to defend the turn and the river without overfolding. By size, the biggest gap is against the 66% c-bet: you fold 43%, and GTO folds 53%. Practise this spot with drills on GTOWizard, and if you have the Elite subscription, use our own set-up drills. Fold more middle and low pairs against flop c-bets, most of all against early and middle position opens and the 66% size.

When the raiser bets a third time, you call 41%, and GTO calls 31%. Across all your river spots you fold the right amount, so the problem is in this one line. On the river we at GoPokerPro believe that in a lot of spots tight is right. If your opponent underbluffs, all your bluff catchers become negative EV very quickly. Play around with Equilab, a free software. There you can guestimate your opponent's range and compare it to your actual holding, to find out if you have a profitable call. Fold more of your bluffcatchers against the third barrel, and check your close calls in Equilab.

You probe the turn 61% of the time, and GTO probes 36%. We do probe more than the solver here, because the population over-folds, but you go past even that. Your value hands are all there. The extra probes come from your middle and low pairs and your no-pair hands: you probe middle and low pairs 51% of the time, and GTO probes them 23%. Your sizes are off too. When you probe the turn, two thirds of the pot is your main size. A third of the pot and the overbet are part of it as well. You choose the 66% size 41% of the time and the 30% size only 4%.
